Moved around a lot as a kid, born in New York, lived in CA, MI, CT, and Mexico City. Went to CAL Berkeley and studied Biology. Started biking seriously in the 80’s with the Mt. Bike craze, and also began to road ride. After a long career in Marketing/Advertising/Creative, I quit the rat race and opened a business restoring vintage guitars. When I am not doing that, I ride my bike. I was a long distance specialist for much of my biking career. I’ve done 5-500 mile races, and completed a 1200K and a 1000K, as well as many 600K events. I was a founding member of this team in 2008 when we started with a bunch of pretty fast guys who wanted to start our own team. The team in it’s first iteration was based in Truckee, CA, and called “Cyclepaths/Wild Cherries. Cyclepaths is a bike shop in Tahoe City and Truckee, and Wild Cherries is a coffee shop in Truckee.

Pro Tip
Before a group ride, check your tires and pull out any tiny chards of glass or sharp little pebbles that are imbedded in the tread. This will greatly reduce the chances of you being the rider with the flat tire.
Best Tactical Advice
Never, ever, give up. The rider next to you, that you think is going to crush you at the end, is probably hurting as bad as you are, maybe worse.
