I started riding bikes in 2017 while commuting from Mill Valley to San Francisco and started racing bikes in 2018 when I realized how fun it was to go fast. For a year so I did mostly road racing and loved it. And then I found gravel racing and it was game over. I found myself more and more drawn to the adventure and big miles that go hand-in-hand with gravel. It seems like the more I ride, the more I love it, even when it doesn’t really make sense why (for example, doing example doing a 400-mile bikepacking trip a week before Dirty Kanza 200).
